Generally speaking, it's important to keep an amount of litter in the box that your cat feels comfortable. We recommend 2 - 3 inches in depth, or a little more if there is more than one cat using the box.

We nerd out about the little things, so here’s some fun info: the best litter scoopers have holes that are approximately the width of a pencil lead (3.8mm). This is because you want a scoop that doesn’t remove too much of the unused litter, but reliably picks up clumps.
